This tutorial letter provides additional notes on information on changes to the regional discussion classes, use of myUnisa discussion forum and October/November 2013 examination preparation guidelines.

In addition Appendix A contains some strategic management concepts that have been translated into isiZulu and Northern Sotho. This tutorial letter should be read in conjunction with Tutorial letter MNG301AMNG301A/101/3/2013. 2 THE DISCUSSION CLASSES Note that regional discussion classes will not be held in this module, as in the previous semesters. The University has made the decision that discussion classes will be replaced with a new online tutor model. Currently only face-to-face tutor support is given through regional centres in this module. Please contact your regional office in that regard.

The main form of online support, and module related discussion will be through myUnisa, the “Discussions forum” tool. 3 myUnisa DISCUSSION FORUM We urge students to make use of the “Discussion forum” tool on the MNG301A page on myUnisa. This forum offers valuable learning experiences and an opportunity to engage in discussions with fellow students. We do provide feedback and guidance on these discussions. 4 FINAL ASSESSMENT MARK You will be awarded marks for Assignments 01 and 02. The higher of the two assignment marks will be combined with your examination mark to give you your final assessment mark.

Students who do not submit Assignment 01 do not have admission to the examination and need to repeat MNG301A. Irrespective of the year mark obtained, a subminimum of 40% must be obtained in the examination. You will therefore not pass the module if your examination mark is less than 40%. 5 EXAMINATION PREPARATION GUIDELINES As part of your preparation for the MNG301A October/November 2013 examination, you should ensure that you have achieved all the learning outcomes and learning outcome standards in your study guide. To reiterate, students must master all of the learning outcomes.

Please do not phone or send an email, requesting guidelines on the outcomes that must be mastered. understand the key concepts used in the examination (see Tutorial letter MNALLEQ/301/4/2012) Remember to read the examination questions carefully, to answer the whole question and to plan your time allocation according to the mark allocation. 3 IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE COPIES OF ALL THE TUTORIAL LETTERS AND THE STUDY GUIDE.
