Having done an inspiring four-year course in Business Economics, combined with two years of practical experience in Export Business Company, I would like to put to use this knowledge to do my Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU). This would give me the leading edge in technology and the practical low-down and information I require.
For this, research would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the subject. The days of my undergraduate study at Kasetsart University helped me to get sound knowledge and firm grasps over the underlying principles of subjects like Business Economics, Marketing Management, Operation Management, and Business Research, and has equipped me with the necessary prerequisites for a formal graduate course.
In the last semester I got the chance to pursue a project related to Agricultural Products Supply Chain Management with the Royal Project at Chiang Mai province. In this project, I worked on the implementation of Business Simulation/Economics model using Object Oriented Programming. I gained a lot from this project. The more tangible benefits have been a deeper insight into agriculture and working of microprocessor and thorough business/economics programming skills.
During my first job as a Export company, I acquired a great deal of knowledge about International Business, International Trade, International Logistics Management, and logistics and supply chain controlling methodologies. I attended a series of trainings and workshops focusing on the logistics and supply chain management and international business as well as the practical use of these systems. In addition, I was responsible for the overall implementation and maintenance of my family business.
Working on these projects has helped me understand for the first time how international logistics and supply chain works. I also developed an appreciation of the “big picture”, and conversely how important the logistics and supply chain management are. I wish to earn MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and intend to follow this up with a doctoral degree, and later a career in research and development.
After having done a research in the logistics and supply chain websites and discussed with my professors and colleagues about my choice of University, I have no doubt that Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) is the appropriate place to pursue my further studies, since it will provide me not only an opportunity to attend classes and laboratories that are taught by well qualified professors and professionally qualified instructors with rich industrial research and consultancy experiences, but also the soft-skills that will be needed to become an outstanding researcher in the field.
MFU’s close links with industry and extensive research links with companies will enable me to apply the knowledge and theory to the real practices through the project works. MFU’s focus on a corporate project will enable me to put my knowledge into a direct practice as well as to develop professional contacts for future employment in the world marketplace. My carefully planned career path and professional/personal experiences in combination with MFU will ensure that I am successful in my next career. My background will also add to the diversity of the MFU class.
I am eager to gain exposure to a diverse and international group of MFU classmates, as well as their insight on the industries in which they have worked. I look forward to sharing my experience and a dynamic classroom environment with them. It would be a great pleasure and honor for me if given a chance to pursue my graduate studies at the Mae Fah Luang University. If given an opportunity to do master’s, I assure that my work would not fall short of your expectations. I hope that you will find in me a deserving and creditable student for MFU.
