HND in Business Awarding Body: Edexcel Level: Qcf Level-5 Course Description This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current and future employment or for progression to an undergraduate degree. It aims to provide an educational foundation for a range of administrative and management careers in business, specialised studies directly relevant to individual vocations and professions in which students are working or intend to seek employment and enable students to make an immediate contribution in employment.

This is a two-year course leading to the internationally recognized HND. This HND Diploma is a certification of knowledge offering a variety of employment choices in the Tourist and Hospitality Industry, specialising on careers in the Leisure and tourism sector. The course aims to give well-rounded, interdisciplinary knowledge in theoretical and practical levels of administrating in the Tourism Industry. The course aims to provide students with the necessary business skills with which to operate in the Tourism Industry as it is considered to be one of biggest and strongest industries all over the world.

The course, examines the economical, social, political, and environmental aspects of Tourism. Students develop specialised business skills and they will have the chance to focus their studies on administrating tourism businesses, transportation, and the framework where the businesses operate (legal, political and human resources framework). It also can be used as a prerequisite for entry onto the 3rd year of Bachelor in Hospitality Management offered at many UK universities or other educational institutions internationally. The Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) are highly regarded, nationally and internationally recognised, undergraduate level programmes, equivalent to the first and econd year of a university degree course. They are at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework. These Health and Social Care programmes have been designed to equip individuals with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for employment in Health & Social Care, both in the UK and overseas. These qualifications meet and exceed the National minimum standard of qualification set by the Care Quality Commission for those practising in Health & Social Care in the UK.

Mode of delivery Participation in a variety of teaching and learning methods which include interactive lectures, seminar presentations, group projects, Independent directed study, Study Skills workshops.

Students are expected to participate in classes which are designed to be interactive. Assessment The course is assessed by end of term by assignments. Each unit is internally assessed and graded by qualified Tutors / Assessors and Internal Verifiers. The final assessment is done by an Edexcel External Examiner. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit and Distinction.
