This was given to the patient who is suffering from difficulty of breathing due to thick secretion. The drug will relax bronchial muscle by blocking beta 2 receptors. | Bronchodilator| -A selective ? 2 adrenoceptor agonist. At therapeutic doses it acts on the ? 2 receptors of bronchial muscle, with little or no action on the ? 1 adrenoceptors of cardiac muscle. | Contraindication:-It is contra-indicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components. Indications:-relief and prevention of bronchospasm in patient with reversible obstructive airway disease. -inhalation: treatment of acute attacks of bronchospasm. | -CNS: tremor, headache, hyperactivity, drowsiness. -CV: peripheral vasodilatation, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias. GI: nausea, diarrhea, constipation. -Others: blurred vision, dry mouth, muscle cramps| -do not exceed recommended dosage; adverse effects or loss of effectiveness may result. Read the instructions that come with respiratory inhalants. – instruct patient that she/he may experience this side effects: drowsiness, dizziness,Headache, nausea & vomting, anxiety. -instruct pt. to report any chest pain, weakness, and tremors. -secure safety of your patient. |
